Facial Rejuvenation(Surgical)

Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery)

Blepharoplasty can rejuvenate puffy, sagging or tired-looking eyes by removing excess fat, skin and muscle from the upper and lower eyelids. It may be performed for cosmetic reasons or to improve sight by lifting droopy eyelids out of the patient's field of vision. Blepharoplasty can be combined with BOTOX® treatments to raise the eyebrows or reduce the appearance of wrinkles, crow's feet or dark circles under the eyes.

Incisions are made along the eyelids in inconspicuous places (in the creases of the upper lids, and just below the lashes on the lower lids). Our physicians remove excess tissue through these incisions and then stitch them closed with fine sutures. In the case that no skin needs to be removed, our physicians will likely perform a transconjunctival blepharoplasty, where the incision is made inside the lower eyelid and there are no visible scars.

Brow Lift

Browlifts can revitalize drooping or lined foreheads, helping you to look less angry, sad or tired. Using either traditional or minimally invasive (endoscopic) methods, browlifts involve the removal or alteration of the muscles above the eyes to smooth lines and raise the eyebrows for a more youthful appearance. The procedure is often combined with other operations such as blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) and facelifts to improve the look of the eyes and other areas of the face.

While browlifts are typically performed on patients aged 40-60 to counteract the effects of aging, anyone with lined or inelastic skin on the forehead - whether it's caused by muscle activity or inherited conditions - is eligible. The procedure can be performed in a surgery center under sedation anesthesia.

Chin and Cheek Augmentation

Cheek augmentation is a cosmetic procedure that attempts to reshape the person’s facial topography into a more visually aesthetic form. It is commonly combined with similar cosmetic operations such as a facelift or chin augmentation because the implants can be inserted through the incisions for those surgeries. This can be an elective surgery or a response to a deformity or accident which has disfigured the face.

Typically, the surgeon makes incisions inside the upper mouth area at the gum line. He can then slide the implants, made of hardened silicone  or polyethylene, into the correct position. These are normally fashioned to fit right on top of the current bone so the surgeon does not need to attach the implants via sutures or staples. Alternatively, the incision can be made underneath the eye, which happens to have a reduced chance of infection. Most patients opt for the intraoral approach, however, because it leaves no visible scar.

Dermabrasion

Dermabrasion removes a layer of surface skin to improve the appearance of facial scarring due to acne, chicken pox, injury or other causes, as well as uneven pigmentation, wrinkles, sun damage, tattoos, age spots and certain kinds of skin lesions. The skin is frozen, typically with a spray, and then abraded with a high-speed rotary instrument for a dramatically smoother, fresher look. After the procedure it is normal to feel a sensation similar to sunburn for a week or so, at which time most patients are able to return to work. The newly revealed skin will likely appear pinker than usual for two to three months. Patients should be sure to adequately protect skin from sunlight.

Hair Transplant

Customized treatment plans for individual patients using the latest techniques and technology make it possible to successfully compensate for thinning hair or baldness. During a hair transplant, thin strips of skin containing hair are taken from the back of the scalp and placed in tiny holes in the bald or thinned area. The grafted hair falls out after the procedure but then grows back and should last as long as the hair from the area in which it was taken.

Facial Liposuction

Facial liposuction sculpts the face by by removing areas of fat from the cheeks, chin or neck (“neck lift”). For patients looking to tone the cheeks or jowls without the need to tighten sagging skin, liposuction can be an effective and less invasive alternative to a facelift.

Rhytidectomy (Facelift & Neck Lift)

In time, gravity, sun exposure, and the stresses of daily life take their toll on our faces: deep creases appear beside the mouth, the jaw line slackens, and folds and fat deposits appear on the neck. Facelifts counteract these problems by removing fat and tightening skin and muscles, giving your face a fresher, youthful look.

A facelift can be combined with a browlift, eyelid surgery or nose reshaping for more dramatic results, or it can be restricted to the neck (necklift) if the patient's problems center there. Incisions are made in inconspicuous places such as behind the hairline and in natural folds of the face and ears, and scars fade to near invisibility in time. Results of a facelift do not last forever, but in another sense, the effects are permanent; years later, your face will continue to look better than if you had never had the procedure.

Otoplasty (Ear Surgery)

Ear surgery typically serves two functions: setting prominent ears back closer to the head, and reducing the size of large ears. Surgery may also be helpful for "lop ear," "cupped ear" and "shell ear," large or stretched earlobes, and lobes with large creases and wrinkles. Our physicians are also able to construct new ears for patients who are missing them from injury or other causes.

Although surgery for adults is available, the operation is most often performed on children aged 5 to 14 -- ears are almost fully grown by age four, and early surgery can prevent a child from being teased in school.

Otoplasty lasts from two to three hours and may be performed in a hospital, office-based facility or an outpatient surgery center. General anesthesia is recommended for very young patients, while local anesthesia and a sedative are used for older children and adults.
